Only individuals who interact with the fiat system - such as adding money (onramp) or withdrawing money (offramp) - are required to go through KYC.

If you only send, receive, or hold USDC within Mo, you do not need to verify your identity.

What You’ll Need

To verify your identity, you’ll be asked to provide:

  • First name and last name
  • Home address
  • Date of birth
  • Government-issued ID number (e.g., SSN for US residents)
  • Government-issued photo ID (passport, driver’s license, or national ID card)
  • Proof of address (required for some regions; optional for others)

How Long Does It Take?

  • Form completion: Usually less than 5 minutes
  • Approval time: Anywhere from a few minutes to 1 business day
  • If more information is needed: You may be contacted directly (for example, if your ID is expired or blurry).

What If My Verification Is Delayed?

Delays usually happen if:

  • The ID provided is expired or blurry
  • The proof of address is missing or incomplete
  • Additional checks are required based on your region

In those cases, our compliance team will contact you directly with next steps.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is identity verification required? To comply with global financial regulations, prevent fraud, and ensure Mo stays safe for all users.

Is my personal information secure? Yes. Your data is encrypted, handled only by trusted providers, and never shared without consent.

What can I use as proof of address? Examples include a recent utility bill, bank statement, or government-issued letter showing your name and address.
