Transfers initiated on a recognized holiday for a given payment rail will not be processed until the next business day.

[!NOTE] Payment rails that complete instantly 24/7/365 (like PIX or SPEI) are typically not affected by holidays. While transactions will complete during the holiday, the settlement date recorded may be the following business day.

How Holidays Affect Your Transfers

  1. Processing Delays: Any transfer requiring manual review or traditional rail processing (like ACH or SWIFT) will be paused during bank holidays.
  2. Weekend Rule: If a holiday falls on a Saturday, it is often observed on the preceding Friday. If it falls on a Sunday, it is typically observed on the following Monday.
  3. Queueing: You can still initiate transfers during holidays. They will be securely queued and sent for processing as soon as banks reopen.
