FAQ
Everything you may want to know about Mo.
Mo is built on Base Network, Coinbase's low-cost Layer 2 network. Mo combines stablecoins with smart wallets (ERC-4337). You sign in with your email or social accounts (Google/Apple) and can send, receive, and earn USDC on Base Network instantly with no seed phrases, no passkeys, and no complexity.
Yes. Mo is fully self-custodial, which means you own your wallet and funds at all times. Mo never has access. Security is handled through social login and blockchain transparency, not passwords or intermediaries.
Recovery is handled through your email or social provider's standard account recovery process (Google/Apple).
With a normal non-custodial wallet, anyone who knows your address can see your full history. Mo improves privacy by letting you share a Mo Box handler instead of your raw wallet address.
Mo works with trusted partners to swap your local money into USDC (and back). You can withdraw to your local currency when you want to but you don't have to. This lets you send and receive money across borders instantly and without worrying about FX fluctuations.
Yes. Mo transacts in an exchange rate which is usually very close to the official market rate (Reuters Open Bid).
P2P transfers via phone number or Mo Box are free. Onramps and offramps are free subject to further notice. For Mo Earn, Mo takes a 10% share of the yield you generate.
Returns come from lending protocols where traders borrow assets and pay interest to access liquidity. All loans are overcollateralized, so if a borrower defaults their collateral is liquidated automatically. This protects you as a lender while the borrower assumes the risk.
