What is Mo and how does it work?

Mo is a financial technology app that enables anyone to send, earn, and hold digital dollars globally with more clarity and less friction. Behind the scenes, we use stablecoins and smart wallets to route value, but the experience stays familiar: you sign in, manage funds, and send money using a simple handle.

What are digital dollars?

Digital dollars (like USDC or PYUSD) are cryptocurrency tokens pegged 1:1 to the US Dollar. They are backed by highly liquid reserves of actual dollars and short-term US treasuries, allowing you to hold and move value globally with the speed of the internet without price volatility.

What is Mo Plus?

Mo Plus is our premium banking rail integration. It provides you with local banking details (like an IBAN, ACH routing number, or CLABE) allowing you to receive local currency directly from traditional banks, which are then automatically converted to digital dollars in your wallet.

Is my money safe and where is it held?

Mo is self-custodial, meaning you maintain control over your keys and funds at all times. Your digital dollars reside in your wallet on the blockchain, not on our servers. For Mo Plus features, funds passing through traditional rails are held briefly by our regulated banking partners (like Lead Bank) during settlement.

What are the fees?

Peer-to-peer transfers between Mo handles are completely free. Pay-in (onramp) and pay-out (offramp) each carry a 1% fee. For Mo Earn, Mo keeps a 10% share of the yield generated for you.

What is the minimum amount I can send or receive?

For standard Mo peer-to-peer transfers, there is no minimum amount. For Mo Plus transactions (ACH or Wires), minimum amounts vary slightly based on the currency rail providers, but usually start at around $1. Refer to the documentation in your dashboard for specific limits.

When will my funds land in the account?

Next-day ACH transactions can take 1-3 days to arrive. Same-day ACH transactions sent before 4:00 PM EST arrive that day. Wires typically arrive within a few hours if received before 5:00 PM EST. digital dollar transfers are near-instantaneous.

What types of transactions can I receive in my Mo Plus account?

For Non-US Residents:
  • 1st-party payments from your own bank account
  • Business payments from registered corporate accounts
  • Third-party payments from family with the same surname
  • P2P payments up to $4,000
For US Residents:
  • 1st-party transfers from your accounts
  • Direct deposit Payroll from employers
  • Broad 3rd-party payments in most US states
Note: Virtual accounts do not support SWIFT, only domestic rails.

How do I verify my account with microdeposits?

If your bank triggers a microdeposit verification, notifications are sent to your registered email or via push notifications. It typically takes 1 day for the small amounts to arrive. The required 3-letter code (common with Plaid) is available in the transaction descriptor on your statement.

My funds are missing or have not arrived.

Please reach out to Mo support at support@mo.xyz and avoid contacting banking partners directly. To expedite your request, please provide a Trace ID (for ACH) or an IMAD number (for Wires) from the sending bank so we can track the transaction.
