What is CADD?
CAD Digital (CADD) is a stablecoin backed 1:1 by Canadian dollars, issued by Tetra Trust Company through its agent CAD Digital Inc. Tetra Trust is a Canadian trust company supervised by Alberta Treasury Board and Finance, which approved CADD. For every CADD issued, an equivalent Canadian-dollar amount is held in the CADD Reserve Trust with Canadian Schedule 1 banks and regulated financial institutions, and CADD is redeemable for $1 CAD under the issuer’s redemption terms. For details, visit Tetra Digital.
What to weigh
- A stated currency peg can weaken, so the token may be worth less than the currency it references.
- Issuer, reserve, redemption, and network arrangements can affect whether and how the token keeps its intended value. Check the issuer’s current disclosures.
